Athens First UMC offers a variety of ministries and programs designed to nurture the faith of individuals and families. Through the study and practice of Christian discipline, lives are transformed and enriched.

Two years ago , our congregation began a four-year emphasis upon several important themes of the Christian life: faith, hope, love, and the abundant life. Each year, beginning in August, we kick off a new year-long emphasis on one of these. This semester marks the continuation of our emphasis upon "love."  Our key verse for this year is John 13:35:

“By this shall all people know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
