Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ by knowing Christ, growing in Christ, serving Christ, and sharing Christ with others. The goal of the Children’s Music Ministry is to encourage children to experience worship while helping them grow spiritually and musically. Worship education and getting to know Christ is a vital part of our children’s Christian journey. Through singing, playing instruments, moving, and studying the great hymns, our children discover their unique abilities in music. Then, together in worship they give back to God the special gift He has given them. CHILDREN’S CHOIRS

O Worship the King! Come let us love and adore Him! This is the theme for our 2007-2008 choir year. The purpose of FUMC children’s choirs is to praise God and lead people in worship so that they may better know our Lord and Savior. Children are trained in the development of their musical skills in a graded program of reading music, ear training, and vocal development. Through carefully chosen scriptural and poetic texts, the basic beliefs of the Christian faith are taught so that children may grow in their knowledge of Christ. In the choir program, children also have the opportunity to serve others through various mission projects throughout the year. Our children’s choirs are given many opportunities to share Christ by singing songs in worship services and other events held at the church that have been carefully selected and rehearsed . The overall goal of each rehearsal is to worship the Lord. Each lesson begins with a greeting, scripture, prayer and a hymn of praise – all carefully modeled after our Sunday worship service. In the choir program children have the opportunity to experience many styles of music from traditional hymns and anthems to modern praise and worship songs. All are welcome to find a place in the children’s music ministry.
